New DeviantArt Account!

Hello Internets!

So after months of consideration, I've finally decided to create a new DA account with the username I've wanted for a very long time. My old username, TWe4k, came from a nickname I had as a teenager and no one has called me it in years. My new username, InjuredSongfest, is actually an anagram for my real name; something I came up with a couple years ago while just playing around with a pen & paper. If you take a look at my gallery, you'll notice that I've been using my InSong signature in all of my recent pieces, this just shows how long I've wanted to change my username, lol. The name Injured Songfest actually does have a personal meaning to me, but damned if I'm telling just what that is. :D

I will be working, over the next couple of months, to get it up and running to take place of this account. I'm debating whether or not to re-post some of my old works there or to simply start over with a clean slate; I'm lazy and a chronic procrastinator so I'll probably start with the former, get distracted and end up with the latter. :shrug:

In other news, I'm working on a couple of new pieces, along with a new avatar and DeviantId, for my new account! I'll try to have something up by this weekend but who knows?

So basically I haven't been on much over the past few months but I happened to check in today and saw I finally reached the 10k pageview mark. Thanks a lot to everyone who has visited my little DA page and thank you very, VERY much to everyone who has fav'd and/or watched me!

Little update: I finally quit that damned office job (huzzah!) and I am making plans to move back to my hometown at the end of April. I decided it's time for a change; I'm starting over with a new life, job and school. And who knows? maybe I'll even feel motivated to start producing new pieces!

Office jobs

Having worked in retail my entire career life, I've always looked at an office job as being ideal: no standing around for hours, no drama and better pay. Most of all though, an office job would mean NO MORE BITCHY CUSTOMERS.

Well guess what...

Now that I have an office job I have realized that the grass definitely NOT greener on the other side. The only advantage an office job has over retail is the pay (and it's not that great of a difference). Instead of standing around for hours, you sit in a chair until your ass is numb. You still have all the drama (more, actually) and you've simple traded bitchy customers for bitchy clients (all in a name, isn't it?). On top of it all, an office job comes with two other little perks from hell: management and claustrophobia.

Management can pretty much summed up as such: you have a boss that bitches at you, because he has a boss that's bitching at him, because she has a boss that's bitching at her, because he has a boss that's bitching at him, because she has a boss that's bitching at her... and so on and so forth, on into corporate infinity.

Claustrophobia: derived from the Latin word claustrum, meaning "a shut in place." There may be windows in an office, but they may as well be moving posters of some distant, shut-off wonderland called "life." In an office, you have no life, you have no soul and you have no voice; you are a number. Nothing exists outside the office, you are shut off from the world.

So how does a shitty retail job taste now? Like a motherfucking chocolate souffle.
